valentine1“Love is in the Air”
February 13 - 17, 2012

It is time again to let our teachers know how much we appreciate everything they do. So...let’s “Show Them The Love!”

Below are the plans for the week and some ideas for you to use. Please don’t forget your specialists and any other teachers!!!

Monday – “Loving Hands Day”

  • The students can bring in handmade gifts or simply give their teacher a hug with their loving hands. Older kids can shake hand and say thank you.
  • Parents “give the teachers a pat on the back” by sending in handprint with what they appreciate about their child’s teacher written on it. Kids use tape to stick it on their teacher’s back. At the end of the day the kids can help their teacher remove the hands and read the compliments. Room moms need to be sure the students take the hands home and bring them back completed.
  • Hospitality is providing chair massages (not sure about the date, but fits here nicely)

Tuesday – Valentines Day

  • Door decorating contest judged. (Room moms will decorate or have a class parent decorate the classroom door for Valentines Day/ Teacher Appreciation however they want.) Prizes will be awarded and recognition given for the best doors
  • Students can bring in Valentine Cards as usual or whatever they would normally do for their teachers
  • Ms. Cline has something special planned for the teachers

Wednesday – “Symbols of Love Day”

  • Students can send in one pink, red or white single flower for each of their teachers to create a class bouquet.
  • Room Moms need to provide a vase ready for flowers when school starts.
  • Hospitality is giving a mailbox treat (Chocolate hug and kisses)

Thursday – Love Stories and Poems

  • Hospitality will put a poem in the teachers’ mailboxes who do not have a class to make them a book
  • The teacher will receive a book bound by volunteers with all their students stories in it. Room moms will need to collect and turn in the stories from their class so we can bind them.

Friday – Love Feast

  • Hospitality will provide a luncheon for the teachers and give them a small gift
  • Students give or do anything that shows their teacher they are loved! (Gift card, goodies, books, music,etc...) You can also get ideas from your teacher’s Getting To Know You list which was shared at the beginning of the year by your room mom. It can also be found in a binder in the front office.

*These are only suggestions. If you would like to show your appreciation to your teacher in any other way, please feel free to do so.
